Tata Motors manufactures 4 electric cars including the Nexon EV


Tata Motors has confirmed that it will be selling four electric cars, including the Tata Nexon EV Compact SUV, in the next 18 months. Speaking to shareholders at TATA's 74th annual meeting recently, Tata Motors Sergeant N. Chandrasekaran said, "Four electric battery powered cars will be sold in India within the next 18 months."

Tata's popular compact SUV model Nexon is also set to be one of the four cars. The name of the fourth model, the Altros EV, the DECOR EV, the Nexon EV, has not been released. Dikor Electric has been selling for Rs 9 lakh 99 thousand, especially for commercial use a few weeks ago. The car is also for sale in the enhanced personal market with various modifications.

In the ultras EV, and the Nexon Electric SUV model, the DC Charger packs 80 percent of the charging speed in 60 minutes and is expected to deliver a maximum range of 250km to 300km in full single charging. The Tikor Battery on sale is powered by a 16.2 kW battery that delivers 30 kW (41 hp) of power at 4,500 rpm and 105 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels by a 72 volt, 3-phase AC induction motor.

It is certified to be capable of a maximum of 142 km on single charge with the battery capacity provided by the car. The battery pack can be charged up to 80 per cent in 6 hours via a standard AC charger and can be delivered in 90 minutes via a DC 15 kW fast charger.

Tata's electric cars are on display at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020 Exhibition. Recently, the central government has reduced the sales of electric vehicles from 12 per cent GST to 5 per cent.
